I am pondering getting a tattoo on my left forearm around the word Nevermore. It's all about myself and for myself (see my old journal entry [link] ).

Well, looking for ideas and suggestions I started a search on dA thus stumbling over a huge Bildungslücke of mine (Leo.org is translating that to gap in education, I can't tell whether it contains all the same associations as the German word): I did not know the Poe poem!

Thanks to all you deviants out there this gap has been filled. So I thought I put up all the - in my opinion - most exceptional pieces I found about Nevermore and the poem for your enjoyment as well. And as a collection for reference while I am still looking for a proper tattoo design.

I split up the thumbs in two categories, works that directly refer to The Raven and the ones that only do it very indirectly or not at all. The thumbs' order is chronological.

There are about 3400 hits on the search term "nevermore" on dA, so I apologize to all the other 3370 or so artworks and their artists for my not being able to mention them. Thank you all for sharing your works!
